Local Municipality is lookng for an experienced Claims Administrator. The purpose of this position is to provide claims oversight by; administering property, liability, and worker’s compensation claims, managing claim records, handling small claim adjustments, developing claims processing procedures. In addition, a qualified candidated will be responsible for coordinating and interacting with staff to obtain proper understanding of the effects of the injury or illness, handling communications, and compiling financial data for management and actuarial review. Other duties include, assisting staff with on the job injuries and providing insurance requirements for events and contracts.
The selected candidate will maintain the Risk Management Information Systems by entering financial and other data related to claims; maintaining reliable system operations; validating data; updating databases; preparing quarterly financial and monthly financial claim reports; and providing staff training.
They will also coordinate property, casualty, and workers’ compensation claims with third party administrators by receiving and reviewing generated claims; determining and communicating outcomes of submitted claims; adjusting small claims received by the city; and processing recovery checks.
This person also manages salary continuation by interacting with employees who have missed work days due to compensable accidents; providing and submitting salary continuation forms; and communicating employees’ status to department heads.
