Paralegal (Raleigh/Durham Area)

As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for providing paralegal services and handling assigned regulatory/legal projects in addition to general administrative functions as needed.

You will act as a liaison between in-house attorneys, outside counsel, organizations and in-house employees. You will compile data from legal digests, encyclopedias and practice manuals; and assemble, proof and edit drafts of contracts, leases, licenses and insurance policies. This position requires a paralegal certification, relevant office experience and a knowledge of office automation equipment and software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Paralegal Certification, NC Certified Paralegal preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years paralegal experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate and partner effectively as a member of the legal team; ability to work directly with all levels of staff, court representatives, law enforcement representatives and witnesses to gain the confidence of senior management.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions and clear understanding and adherence to ethical principles, company values, code of conduct and policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to most effectively contacting clients, coordinating case schedules with courts, law enforcement officials, witnesses and defense attorneys and draft correspondence and legal document for attorneys.
  • Firm understanding of litigation legal process; In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
  • The ability to analyze and effectively comment on legal documents for accuracy and completeness. Compile and analyze case documents for hearings & trials and prepare court calendars.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office products: Word, Outlook, Excel & Power Point; Ability to type 50+ wpm. Ability to learn, update and edit existing proprietary applications and quickly learn and use various computer systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details to analyze and problem solve; willingness to take initiative and “think outside the box”.
  • Assist attorneys with proofreading, cite checking, locating files and documents with frequent interruptions; manage deadlines and adapt to changes in workflow.
  • Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
  • Assertive in tackling new challenges; acts decisively with good business judgment; failure to make decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations, and may jeopardize overall business activities.

Full Time Landscaper – Raleigh, NC

Locally owned high service residential landscaping company, looking to immediately add experienced landscaping laborer. 32-40 hours per week

Individual requirements include

  • Minimum 2 years as landscaper working with a professional landscaping company
  • Minimum 2 years operating push, Zero radius, ride along, edgers, and weed whacker for lawncare
  • Experience identifying and working with local plants, bushes, sod, and trees a plus
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds continuously
  • Must follow detailed directions when caring for a lawn maintenance i.e. planting, mowing, mulching, and pruning.
  • Must work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Must be appropriately dressed and provide excellent customer care as needed.
  • Clean Driving Record, preferred
  • Experience in hardscape a plus but not required including driveways, pouring cement, irrigation
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions caring for lawns

Part Time Web Designer

Customer Service Representative – Wake Forest

AVANT is recruiting for an experienced Customer Service Representative to work with a growing company in Wake Forest, NC.  The position is responsible for servicing and retaining new and existing benefits insurance accounts and referring potential business to other departments and affiliates. The selected candidate will support producer(s) in managing renewals and new sales by preparing quotes and proposals, and serve as the primary point of contact for all client inquiries.
Essential Functions:

  • Respond to customer and insurance company inquiries in a timely manner via telephone and email and record communications using Applied software.
  • Use encrypted software to send email containing sensitive or protected information.
  • Quote and re-market benefits insurance policies using internet based systems.
  • Prepare accurate, organized quotes and proposals for renewals and prospective business.
  • Maintain vendor/carrier relationships and stay current with their benefits plans.
  • Ensure the proper placement of requested coverage and document all transactions using Applied software.
  • Ensure that insurance coverage is underwritten to at least agency minimum standards and consistent with the standard operating procedures for all new policies.
  • Correspond with clients and insurance carriers to obtain information and/or inform them of account status or changes.
  • Analyze information from clients, original insurance applications, and other company documents to determine if changes are needed and effects of changes.
  • Accurately process and record new insurance policies and changes according to agency procedures.
  • Accurately modify, update, and process existing policies and claims to reflect any change in beneficiary, amount of coverage, or type of insurance.
  • Organize and maintain detailed records for each client using Applied software.
  • Review and verify data, such demographics, coverage, and premiums on insurance applications and policies.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Answer office telephones, greet visitors, and perform various administrative duties including mailing, faxing, copying, etc.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.



  • Refer potential business to other departments and affiliates.
  • Round out accounts and cross sell in order to offer greatest level of protection to each client.

Individual will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and training warehouse associates on CNC process and machine operation

I.T. Field Technician – Filled

AVANT is recruiting for an I.T. Field Technician for a large locally based business with locations in NC, VA and FL.  This is a fast-paced, rewarding position, with great pay, benefits and bonus potential.

The IT Field Technician is responsible for maintaining and fixing all technologies within a restaurant environment. This position requires general knowledge of phones, computers and networking as well as excellent communication skills, strong time management, and self-motivation.

Job Responsibilities

Maintain PCs, Point of Sales Systems and networks at remote locations

Troubleshoot and solve IT issues quickly and calmly via phone, remote access, or on site

Work an on-call rotation
